This philosophy of placing our clients first wasn’t born overnight. It grew from the experience and ideas of one man who arrived in Hong Kong back in the 1960s.

That man is Manny, our founder. He established MKR Bespoke in 1984. But the genesis of the story harkens back to the 1960s, when a young Manny first arrived in Hong Kong.

Arriving from India, Manny immersed himself in Hong Kong’s world-renowned tailored industry. At first, it was a means to support his growing family. But soon, what was once just a livelihood grew into something more. 

A passion for the artistry and heritage of Hong Kong tailoring grew within Manny. As the 60s gave way to the 70s and 80s, Manny plied his trade at tailors across Hong Kong. His knowledge grew. His passion ignited. And the most important part was forged. 

Along the way, Manny forged strong, long-lasting relationships. With other industry aficionados. With suppliers and mill owners. And most importantly, with clients. For Manny realized that a strong bond between client and tailor is where true sartorial quality is born.

And so, in 1984, after decades of learning and saving, Manny founded MKR Bespoke. A tailoring house founded on the principle that bespoke tailoring is more than the tailor. More than the fabric. It is about the person who wears the suit. It is about you.
